Now I shall mention the distance between the southern cardinal points and meridians in Yojanas. Understand it. 134- 135a. The external and internal distances between the two quarters and meridians are seven million and one hundred and seventyfive Yojanas. 135b-136a. During Uttarayana (the northern transit of the sun) the sun goes round the internal zones. During Daksinayana (the southern transit ) the sun goes round the external zones. This is the usual order. 136b- 137. In the north there are one hundred and eighty zones. In the south also the sun traverses that much. Know the distance of the Mandala (zone) in Yojanas.
